The Ekambareswarar Temple is a Hindu temple, dedicated to the god Shiva. The temple is located in the city of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is a very important temple in Hinduism, as this holy temple is linked to the element earth, or Prithvi. Shiva is worshipped as Ekambareswar or Ekambaranathar, and is represented by Prithvi lingam. Legend has it that Shiva and his wife Parvati were married under the mango tree, which lies in the inner sanctuary of the temple. A tour of the temple is already a magical and mystical event.
