About "The heart of Naarden-Vesting"

About the artwork

This drone photo of Naarden-Vesting captures the impressive Grote or Sint-Vituskerk in the heart of the city. From the air, you can see the church as the striking centrepiece of the fortress, with its tall tower rising above the old town. The church towers majestically above the surrounding houses.

The building dates back to the 14th century and was dedicated to St Vitus and thus part of the Catholic Church. After the iconoclasm in 1574, it became a Protestant church. The church is currently used for worship services of the Protestant Church in Naarden, but also hosts many events and concerts. The Grote Kerk is best known in the Netherlands for the annual performance of the St Matthew Passion by the Dutch Bach Society on Good Friday.

The atmosphere evoked by the picture is one of reverence and history. It seems as if time has stood still, and the Grote Kerk, as a symbol of religion and strength, has kept the city in its shadow for centuries.

What makes the picture special is the combination of technique and timing. The use of a drone makes it possible to capture the building in its entirety, with a unique view of the city around it. The image makes you aware of the big role this church plays in the cityscape, both past and present.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
