About ‘The goddess of tears’ by Bianca Wisseloo

A surreal painting in oil of a fantasy creature or thing with an eye that appears to be swimming or floating in the sea. It is dark; the creature is a kind of blue and pink circle with tentacles reminiscent of the tentacles of a squid or octopus. The centre is a kind of donut shape with a green eye in the hollow. Droplets float around the creature representing tears. As tears are salty, so is the sea. That is what the goddess of tears does; she makes tears. AND because she lives in the sea, the sea is salty. In some of the drops, there is an orange fish. These provide some colour accents in the painting.

I was inspired by Greek mythology, where there is a god or goddess for a lot of everyday things. I don't know if there is also a Greek goddess of tears, but here goes!
