About ‘The colour palette of Tajikistan’ by Yvonne de Bondt

Last year, during my world tour, I travelled for 10 weeks through Central Asia where, after special Uzbekistan, I also visited raw, adventurous Tajikistan.
From the North West of Tajikstan, I eventually arrived in the far North East at the 'Karakul' lake after 16 days of roadtripping along the adventurous highway called the 'Pamir Highway'. Had travelled along the border with Afghanistan for five days with the 'Panj River' as a natural border, so an adventure it was for sure.
Once I arrived at this huge lake located at 3900 metres, I saw all kinds of natural colour contrasts as I took this picture.
The special cloudy sky, the clear blue water, the brown mountains, the sand and rock beach and the blue sky made this moment very special.
It seemed like the end of the world in this place and also no human to be seen apart from the occasional shepherd with his yak's. A very surreal place and moment that I will never forget in this particularly beautiful still unspoilt country.
