The coast

by Tijn Geurts

In this graphic print, the power of nature comes alive through the stark contrast between the sea, the imposing mountains in the background and a striking red element. The sea is rendered in flowing, geometric shapes that capture the movement and serenity of the water in a stylised way. The mountains in the background, with their sharp lines, create a powerful contrast and enhance the drama of the landscape.

The red element, which occupies a focal point in the design, adds an unexpected energy to the image. It plays with the balance between the calmness of the sea and the ruggedness of the mountains, while at the same time attracting the viewer's attention. The choice of bright colours creates a vibrant and modern feel, with the shades of red combining with the cool colours of the water and mountains to create a visually exciting effect.

This graphic print evokes a sense of both calm and tension, due to the way the natural elements interact with each other. The use of bright shapes and colours emphasises the strength of the landscape, while the red element adds an unexpected twist that gives the print a contemporary and bold look. The work is a contemporary interpretation of untamed nature, where simplicity and colour come together to offer a powerful visual experience.
