On a warm summer day, we left around 9.30 a.m. from Drimmelen, a gateway to De Biesbosch National Park. The water was still, the air was soft and only the rustling of reeds and trees broke the silence. This unique nature reserve is a wonderful area to sail around in a sloop. Countless creeks, islands and green banks make the Biesbosch a paradise for birds and for those who love nature, water and peace and quiet.
The photo shows exactly that moment: a sloop bobbing in a landscape reflected in the water. The sepia processing gives the image a timeless look. As if it could have been made 30 years ago, while remaining recognisable to anyone who has ever visited the Biesbosch.
This work brings the atmosphere of a summer day on the water into your home. A reminder of boating in nature, an ode to silence and a classic piece of Dutch water landscape.
