The lifeguard station on the beach in Knokke is no ordinary station. It was and is a winning design of a competition for a new shelter for the lifeguards, among others. From the tower, there is a good view over the elongated beach. The yellow colour of the building makes it a very good landmark for the many beach visitors in summer.
On this early September morning, only a handful of walkers were on the North Sea beach. The sunrise heralded a day of fine weather. It is wonderful to walk along the coastline in peace and take pictures'undisturbed. You get up early, but it pays off. The views are beautiful and the advantage is that you start your day actively.
By the way, in case you are not familiar with this building; the "ladies and gentlemen" on top of the round roof perfectly and clearly indicate that public toilets are also located here. For many a 'rescue' sometimes, too.
