An exact depiction of the original painting Vincent van Gogh's Gelehouse from 1888.

I spent a lot of time creating this image in beautiful realistic fresh colours as I think Vincent van Gogh intended it to be.

The painting was made during Vincent van Gogh's time in Arles, France.

The yellow house was painted in September 1888. Vincent van Gogh first called it La Maison et son entourage (The house and its surroundings) but later chose the title La Rue (The street). He also made a pen drawing of it to send to his brother Theo, and a watercolour. The painting hangs in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The subject is the right half of the building at number 2 Place Lamartine, Arles in France. Here, on 1 May 1888, Van Gogh rented two large rooms on the ground floor for his studio and a kitchen, and two smaller rooms on the first floor overlooking Place Lamartine. The window on the first floor with the shutters open is Van Gogh's guest room where his friend the painter Paul Gauguin moved in in October when they wanted to found the Atelier van het Zuiden. The window with the shutters closed is Van Gogh's own room, immortalized in the painting The Bedroom. In the left half of the building there is a restaurant with a grocery store, indicated as Comestibles on the sign above the marquis. Here Vincent ate every day according to a letter to Theo at the end of September 1888. The street has been demolished for the
