An exact picture of the original painting café terrace by night by Vincent van Gogh from 1888.
I spent a lot of time creating this image in beautiful realistic fresh colours as I think Vincent van Gogh intended it to be.
The painting was made during Vincent van Gogh's time in Arles, France.
Vincent Van Gogh presented his new impressions of the south of France in the painting of a café in Arles, now called Café van Gogh. The style of the painting is typically Van Gogh with warm colours and perspective. After painting it, Vincent wrote enthusiastically in a letter to his sister: I'm working on a new painting of a café by night. On the terrace are small people drinking. A large yellow lantern illuminates the terrace, the street has purple tones. The facades of the houses and a blue sky with stars and a green tree. It has become a night painting without black but with blue and purple and green and bright shades of green and lemon yellow. I love to paint this right on the spot. Normally I first make a drawing or sketch but now I wanted to paint it right away.
