Bewitching old beech tree in summer forest setting. This tree has a spell over me. I have known it all my life, but never truly saw it until I started photographing trees. The way the branches stick out makes it look like the tree is bewitching everyone who passes by. On the day that I made this photograph it was actually very sunny and I had to wait until the light specks on the trunk had disappeared. I had not planned to photograph that day, we had gone to the forest to take a walk with our dog, but as my husband likes to say: I don't look complete without a camera and so I took a camera with just a 50mm lens with me. Plus a tripod, because I am not really complete without a tripod either. The funny thing is that I photographed this tree in all kinds of conditions that are supposedly better ; in autumn, in the fog, at dawn....and yet....this is the best one. The detail in the picture is amazing due to the chosen lens and every little leaf stands out. But this tree is the main attraction, putting everyone under its spell
