An old lamppost on the old Spanjaardsbrug a nice view of the White House in Rotterdam. A view across the old harbour on a beautiful day. A little piece of nostalgia in Rotterdam among the new high-rise buildings. The old old barges moored at the jetties. A pinch of nostalgia pictured in Rotterdam.
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photos, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
