This photo was taken in Bangkok, Thailand. I was allowed to go this way for work and had marked a number of places to photograph in advance, including this location with the huge Buddha of "Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen", a Buddhist temple complex in Bangkok, in the background.
I had brought my 100-400mm telephoto lens for this shot, as the distance to the Buddha was quite long. By fully zooming in at 400mm, the image pulls together and shows the size of the Buddha quite well. The soft light and the traffic in the foreground complete the picture for me.
But just pressing the button is not enough; it needs a bit of 'tinkering' at home. I do 99% of my photo editing at home, where I have a big screen, a fast desktop and a Wacom drawing tablet, so I can quietly edit my photos to make them suitable for hanging on the wall. For this photo, I chose some warmer tones and a softer approach, which I think works well for the overall image.
