The red kite is one of the few bird species that occur almost exclusively in Europe. Due to intensive persecution, it was greatly reduced and locally disappeared. Protective measures put an end to this and nowadays the species can be found again in our neighbouring countries, although nowhere in great numbers. It feeds mainly on carrion, but also catches prey up to the size of a rabbit.
I love to go out into nature and do landscapes and macro photography.
