The Phare de la Hague, also called the Phare de Goury, is a very distinctive lighthouse built on a rock about one kilometre southwest of Cap de la Hague.
The picture was taken long after sunset, when the evening sky is still showing the last red tones before night finally falls.
The poor light conditions alone result in a long exposure time, which can only be managed with a tripod. As with all long exposures at the water, it is then rendered very soft and silky, which creates a beautiful contrast to the rugged rocks in the foreground.
The lighthouse itself also gets more attention in the picture.
Photography is painting with light. According to this motto, my pictures are created, whether as a long exposure or simply in the first or last light of the day.
