Oil pastel painting inspired by the woodblock print of Japanese artist Hokusai. Hokusai is famous for his woodblock prints. Vincent van Gogh collected very prints , he was a great admirer of Japanese art and used that a lot as inspiration for his paintings.
With oil crayon pastel, you can create a lot of texture which can be clearly seen the white-blue foam of the sea.
