The French balcony. Cycling through Paris, I realized how much wrought iron hangs from the facades. One balcony gate even more richly decorated than the other. Sometimes just a beautiful ironwork, sometimes a balcony full of plants, sometimes a stray red geranium in an otherwise empty flower box. And yet the buildings are full of repetition of ornaments, window frames and thus balcony railings.
Warm autumn light streams along the façades and lights up all the greenery on and around the balconies. It adds to the stately character of the buildings. A real Parisian picture to immediately put you in French spheres.
