The floating pavilion is not only special because of the floating spheres on the water, but also climate-proof, innovative, sustainable and flexible. The floating pavilion is a pilot and catalyst for floating construction in Rotterdam. The pavilion consists of three interconnected spheres, the largest of which has a radius of 12 metres. The floor area of the pavilion island is over 46 by 24 metres. It will be located in the Rijnhaven until at least 2019. The Rijnhaven is suitable for the pavilion because of its limited wave action. In addition, fewer and fewer inland vessels will be using the harbour. Moreover, the Rijnhaven is easily accessible by public transport, including by water. The Floating Pavilion can be rented in full or in part to organise seminars, exhibitions, workshops or tailor-made presentations. The auditorium and the indoor and outdoor plaza are also part of this floating hotspot within the Rotterdam Stadshavens area.
