The Erasmus Bridge and the Rotterdam skyline in black and white by Natalia Gebauer Studio

This photograph centres on the iconic Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, captured in a striking black-and-white composition. The bridge’s sleek cables and distinctive pylon cut through the sky, whilst the modern architecture of the Kop van Zuid rises in the background. A subtle detail in this piece is the dynamic reflection of the cloudy sky on the rippling waters of the Nieuwe Maas, which lends the photograph a lovely sense of depth.

This piece is inspired by the clean, graphic forms of Rotterdam’s architecture. The choice of black and white places the emphasis entirely on the interplay of lines, contrasts and the city’s imposing structures, without any distraction from colour. With this image, I aim to create a timeless, elegant and powerful atmosphere. It showcases the minimalist beauty of one of the Netherlands’ most famous bridges.

In an interior, this black-and-white artwork is a stylish and calming focal point. Thanks to its monochrome palette and clean lines, this photograph fits perfectly into a modern, minimalist, sleek or industrial interior. It is a timeless classic for any wall, perfect for both the living room and a business office.
