The White House in Rotterdam – History amidst modern high-rise buildings

by Natalia Gebauer Studio

This photograph features the famous White House in Rotterdam, captured from a striking vertical perspective. The historic building reveals all its refined details, whilst the impressive modern skyscrapers behind it reach up into the sky. The soft, golden evening light illuminates the background and beautifully showcases the building’s unique architecture. A striking detail is the reflection of the warm sunlight on the glass windows of the surrounding new-builds.

This work is inspired by the resilience and unique character of Rotterdam, where old and new blend seamlessly. The idea was to capture the elegance of Europe’'’s first skyscraper within the context of the contemporary city. With this image, I aim to create a powerful, stylish and admirable atmosphere. It tells the story of the balance between history and the future.

The vertical format makes this artwork particularly well-suited to a tall wall, a narrow alcove or as a striking focal point above a sideboard. With its warm tones and clean lines, it fits perfectly into a modern, industrial or elegant urban interior. A beautiful piece for anyone who has a special connection with Rotterdam.
