The Dettifoss waterfall is located in the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river in Northern Iceland. It is the most powerful waterfall in Western Europe and is fed by the largest European glacier, the Vatnajökull. The Dettifoss is preceded by the also spectacular waterfall Selfoss, and followed by the Hafragilsfoss. The canyon is also called the grand canyon of Iceland.
