Many Chinese people talk about the history of China. This work creates a bridge between the past and the present. A dragon that originated from the past and has a lot history originated from the Chinese culture represented here as art, art made in the present. Freedom of expression in the form of art is very important in China. I personally find this image a beautiful representation of the Freedom of expression.
This dragon is located in the Furong Tunnel at the University of Xiamen. This tunnel is known for the many wall drawings and the Chinese tourists who take pictures of the art. I lived at the university and went to the tunnel with my fellow Chinese students not long after my arrival. Because of ignorance about China, I had created a stereotypical image of it. After my arrival, I noticed that China was a completely different country than expected. But the many red and yellow colors fit within this image, which I found typical. It reassured me in a period in which there were many new influences and environments for me. That is why this image has a strong feeling for me!
