Arnold de Lange, born in 1968 in Wormerveer, is self-taught and as a painter he is inspired by the old masters of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. He is mainly concerned with painting figurative subjects such as landscapes, village views and prints of the Zaanse and Noord-Holland country and lately also many maritime works with especially ship portraits of Dutch classic ships, newly built with classic lines or ships from earlier centuries.
