About ‘Thai fishing boats’ by Bjorn Alards

In the small Thai harbour, time seems to stand still for a moment. Colourful wooden boats bob gently on the clear water, whilst fishermen prepare for a new day. In the background, the green hills and the gentle breeze create an almost picturesque view. The photo exudes warmth, tranquillity and simplicity — exactly what appeals to so many people about Thailand.

You can almost imagine what it smells like there: a mix of salty sea air, freshly caught fish and the food from small stalls along the quay. Perhaps soft music is playing somewhere in the distance, or the buzz of locals greeting one another. It is precisely those small details that make such a harbour special. It is not a busy tourist spot, but a slice of everyday life that feels pure and authentic.

What makes this photo so beautiful is the relaxed atmosphere. The boats seem to move gently with the water, whilst the sun slowly illuminates the landscape.
