For this photo, I photographed a leaf up close, a macro shot. This leaf is from a Begonia (also called Leaf Begonia or Begonia Rex). This houseplant has particularly beautiful leaves with a nice pattern of coloured veins, and such a leaf is an inspiration for me to make a special photo of it. With multiple exposures, I like to mix two or more photos for a creative and artistic effect. So too with this photo of the leaf. Here I used a photo of the rough structure of cork. This structure in natural brown tones fits perfectly with the beautiful and special pattern on the begonia leaf. What has emerged is an artistic work of art in natural shades of brown and green. The pattern on the leaf is still recognisable but also looks a bit like roots of a tree or plant growing in the earth. The work is not only realistic but certainly also has an abstract feel to it. All in all, it has become a beautiful work of art that brings nature into your home. It is a haven of peace in your room!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
