Sunset over the grain fields in Bemmel.
Bemmel is a village and a former municipality in the Betuwe (Gelderland). On 1 January 2001 the municipalities of Bemmel, Gendt and Huissen were merged under the working name Bemmel. Since 1 January 2003 this municipality has been called Lingewaard. The town had 12,161 inhabitants on 1 January 2020.[2] The administrative centre of the municipality of Lingewaard is located in Bemmel.
The village is situated in the catchment area of the Waal, Nederrijn and Linge, in the lowlands between the cities of Arnhem and Nijmegen. Bemmel has expanded considerably in the period 1990-2006 with three new districts: Little Rome, Klaverkamp and Essenpas. The hamlets Doornik and De Pas are also part of Bemmel. The hamlet of Vossenpels belongs partly to Bemmel and partly to Lent. (source wikipedia)
