The location of Pura Tanah Lot can certainly be called special. This is because ebb and flow play one role in getting to this religious building. The Tanah Lot temple was built as an ode to the god of the sea. That is why part of this temple lies in the water, on top of a rock. At high tide the whole temple is surrounded by water. At low tide you can walk to the lower part of the temple. However, you are not allowed to walk all the way to the small island, but you can get close. So the tide plays an important role here.
