A quiet summer evening on a Swedish lake. It has been raining all day and now, as the evening begins, the sky opens up. The water stills and the sky colours in pastel shades. Further on, I hear a few birds and behind me a boy is fishing.
I love the silence in photos's and try to capture the resulting feeling in images. Scandinavia and specifically Sweden has a special place in my heart. I am always drawn to the water there and the sunsets reinforce this image. I try as much as possible to find a spot by the water right in front of the sunset.
To enhance the stillness, I used ND filters that allowed me to work with a slower shutter speed. This flattens the water and slightly replaces the clouds (if they are moving). In post-processing, I hardly had to do anything. The colours are as beautiful in real life as in the photo.
I have over 15 years of experience as a photographer, both in real estate and landscape photography. I now live in Sweden and have a great love for photography in the Nordic countries.
