Sunrise at a wind farm – The golden hour on the IJsselmeer

by Fotografiecor .nl

This image captures the tranquillity of a summer’s morning on the IJsselmeer. The long exposure time has transformed the water’s surface into a perfect mirror, in which the warm hues of the sunrise and the silhouettes of the wind turbines blend seamlessly. The basalt blocks in the foreground create a powerful focal point, forming a sharp contrast with the ethereal, dreamlike horizon.

The IJsselmeer is more than just a body of water; it is a place where Dutch history and the modern energy transition converge. During these quiet hours, when the wind is barely stirring, our country’s largest inland lake reveals an unparalleled tranquillity. As a photographer, I seek to strike a balance between these sleek, man-made structures and the untamed beauty of the morning light.

This artwork is an ideal ‘statement piece’ for a modern or minimalist interior. It brings a serene and spacious atmosphere to the room. For the best result, I recommend mounting it on acrylic glass; this enhances the depth of the reflection and the intensity of the warm morning light.

Bring the tranquil energy of the Dutch waters into your home and let your space shine with this unique morning scene.
