The summit of the Sierra Helada is shrouded in mist. Rugged rocks meet soft clouds. The Sierra Helada Nature Park is located on the Mediterranean coast and is a landmark of the Costa Blanca in Spain. Hiking over the mountain ridge offers wonderful views of the blue Mediterranean, the cliffs and the coastal landscape. In the distance, the Peñón de Ifach Nature Park, Calpe's landmark, rises out of the sea.
This landscape shot is inspired by the misty atmosphere, but also by the imposing cliffs that give the Sierra Helada its characteristic appearance. The side of the Sierra Helada facing the sea impresses with steep rock faces, while the slopes facing away from the sea appear rather gentle and are partly wooded.
In my opinion, the jagged limestone cliffs form a beautiful contrast to the blue tones of the sea. On closer inspection, a car wreck can be seen on the mountainside, which indicates that the terrain is very steep and sloping. Due to the exposed position, there are transmission masts on the summit. Traces of civilisation meet the rugged beauty of nature.
The Sierra Helada is a popular tourist destination in the province of Alicante due to its cliffs and fantastic viewpoints. This photo is dedicated to the natural park on the Mediterranean coast and the scenic beauty of the Costa Blanca.
