A shelf cloud over the Markermeer approaches Lelystad, Bataviastand. The tufts under the cloud (also called fractus) characterised the retracting feed of this thunderstorm. This cloud was visible almost across the entire width of the country. The rain and the hail core were both visible separately. The whiter the precipitation zone, the more hail it contains
