The work "Still waters run deep" is an abstract painting composed entirely of coloured triangles that depicts a turtle in the water in a stylised manner. The clear, symmetrical composition and the purely geometric formal language create a modern, graphically precise interpretation of a natural motif.
In the centre is the reddish-orange shell of the turtle, which is formed from warm triangles placed close together. This central shape is clearly set off against the cool, turquoise background and gives the picture a strong visual centre. The shell is surrounded by four green, differently orientated areas, each symbolising the turtle's legs.
