Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.

About ‘Still nets beneath the threatening skies over the IJsselmeer’ by SR Blaauw

In this minimalist coastal landscape, the fishing nets seem to fade slowly into an endless expanse of water and sky. A row of wooden posts forms a subtle line stretching towards the horizon, whilst the smooth surface of the water, captured with a long exposure, exudes an almost painterly tranquillity. An impressive blanket of clouds hangs over the landscape, lending the image a sense of tension without disturbing the stillness.

The power of this photograph lies in its simplicity. There are hardly any distractions; just water, sky and the fragile structure of the fishing nets. It is precisely this that creates a sense of space and tranquillity. The soft green-grey tones lend it a timeless quality that would look at home in many interiors, from a modern home to a peaceful workspace.

Whilst taking this photograph, I was fascinated by the contrast between the sturdy posts and the delicate network stretching across the water. The long exposure transforms the moving water into a calm surface and enhances the serene nature of the image.

My name is Sijtze Blaauw. I am an image-capturer. I capture images with my camera. I capture what my mind sees and feels. Sometimes the image comes straight out of my camera. Sometimes it needs a bit of tweaking using modern techniques. But the image is always an interpretation of my reality, as I see and experience it.
