April 21, 2024 marks exactly 13 years since my Grandfather Pieter Ringoot passed away. He lived to be just under 90 years old.
In his memory, I digitally reworked one of his artworks, which I knew was not quite finished, using Adobe Photoshop. We often talked about colour, contrast and perspective so when editing, I took this into account as much as possible.
Critical of his work as he could be, I'm pretty sure he could appreciate the adjustment.
My grandfather made several still life paintings. These works were mainly to study composite and light. The original painting (also available from this site) was painted in 1974 in the painter's studio in Lebbeke. (East Flanders - Belgium)
Those who know me know that I try to show his paintings, drawings and etchings to a large public via www.galerieringoot.com. (Along with the work of my father-in-law, by the way) This is to keep his colourful legacy alive.
