The artwork shows a quiet moment on a lake, captured by the dense foliage on the shore. In the centre is a small boat, carefully covered with a tarpaulin, moored to a narrow wooden jetty. Almost hidden behind the hanging branches of a willow tree and the delicate branches in the foreground, this scene only reveals itself to the attentive eye. The reflections in the water double the world - they flow into each other so that it is hard to tell where nature ends and reflection begins.
The picture was created on an early spring day when I deliberately withdrew from the noise of the city. I was inspired by the idea of visualising stillness - that moment just before a movement when everything is at rest. Perhaps it was also due to an old Japanese film that had touched me deeply days before: reduced, quiet, poetic. I wanted to capture this tranquillity.
The atmosphere is cool, almost melancholic - but not sad. Rather inviting for thoughts, for an inner pause. The artwork is intended to remind us of what we often overlook: the small, unspectacular places where time is not important. For me, it represents a return to simplicity - a silent resistance to speed and sensory overload. This picture was created in a moment of self-reflection - and thus became an anchor point of inner clarity.
