When my wife and I stayed in Orvieto, Italy, our rental apartment had a tiny little balcony that overlooked a tiny little parking lot (it was entertaining watching skillful drivers tucking themselves into tight spots, all without hitting the car next to them).
But parking skills aside, the view from the balcony took in colorful roofs, bedecked by clay tiles, with the steeples of small churches tucked into the melee. In the distance, in the agricultural fields that surrounded the historic hilltop town, green fields and small farms filled the landscape.
The artwork, Steeples and Chimneys, invites you to bring your cup of coffee and biscotti out onto the balcony and join us in enjoying the view. It's a small balcony, and space is tight, but we'll make room for you.
