Reims Cathedral in France is a beautiful grand work of art. The large windows provide beautiful light. The stained glass stands out well. Not for nothing is this Gothic work of art on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The perspective of the photo and the size of the cathedral make me feel immensely humble and small. I still do when I look at this photo. I took this photo during a weekend away and I remember we spent hours walking around here because it was so impressive.
The colours make it feel warm and romantic but mysterious at the same time. You do see the beautiful stained glass so you know how beautiful it is at the end of this corridor. The contrast of the colours of the stained glass stand out beautifully against the rest. The light makes the cathedral's graceful arches stand out even more. It feels like a mix of mystery and romantic. Because of the symmetry, you are taken into the cathedral's corridor. You are the focal point and your eyes immediately fall on the end of the corridor. You are in this place. I wanted to capture that.
