The needles themselves are thin and elongated in shape, with a dark green colour that changes to a lighter shade at the ends. The texture of the needles is visible in the photograph, allowing the viewer to almost feel the roughness and prickly feel of the needles, and the composition of the photograph allows the needles to come into focus almost as an abstract pattern. This photo of pine needles is a beautiful study of the natural details of one of the forest's most iconic trees. It allows the viewer to experience the subtle beauty of the needles up close and reconnect with the natural world around us.
