It is January 2022 and the stores and restaurants in the city of Haarlem are closed because of Corona. The streets are very quiet and you see few if any people in the city. From the Jansstraat, a side street of the Grote Markt, you have a view of the Sint Bavokerk. In this street I took the picture. I stood on the street and placed the church tower in the middle. The curbs, seen on the left and right, lead you to the church. The sky is filled with clouds. The color tones in the photo are brown/red/gray. With these colors, I want to emphasize the sobriety of that day. The only color accent, orange, in the picture is the pannier of a parked bicycle against the left facade and the signboard of Zang en Vriendschap on the right facade.
The always bustling city of Haarlem was deserted during this period. This particular street scene is a nice representation of daily city life in corona time.
