For this photo, I drove specially to Belgium. With a few days off and a clear plan, I headed for Antwerp, Ghent and Liège, three cities full of visual inspiration. My first stop was Antwerp, where this particular staircase is located: an architectural gem that plays with lines, rhythm and perspective.
It's always exciting whether the location I found online is right and accessible. Fortunately, that was the case here. Armed with a wide-angle lens and tripod, I began my exploration. From the top level, I was able to capture the staircase in its full glory, a composition that exudes tranquillity and elegance.
What makes this photo extra powerful are the colors. The warm wood tones of the banister contrast beautifully with the cool grey of the metal railings and steps. The soft light falling from top to bottom enhances the depth effect, creating subtle shadows that accentuate the spiral pattern. The combination of warm and cool colors creates a balanced, modern look.
At home, the second part of the creative process begins. At my desk, with a fast computer, large screen, Wacom drawing tablet and professional software, I give each picture the attention it deserves. This way, each image is optimized for presentation on the wall, with an eye for detail, colour and atmosphere.
