This work, drawn with charcoal itself, represents for me the fascinating contrast between structure and softness. I have tried to combine the sensitive and calm mood of a closed eye with the textured, glittering surface. The closed eyelid, from which the hairs emerge finely and precisely, shows calm and intimacy. In contrast, I have added shimmering, almost crystalline elements to the eyeshadow, creating an impression of glamour and mystery. The use of charcoal allows me to create deep contrasts that emphasise both the delicacy of the skin and the hard, geometric shapes of the glitter. The flowing strands of hair in the background set the image in a soft frame that draws attention entirely to the eye.
