About ‘South tower of Schiermonnikoog’ by Nickie Fotografie

Schiermonnikoog has two towers. The South Tower is white and the North Tower is red. The towers were built to act as cooperating lighthouses. After the installation of a turning light in the red North Tower, the white lighthouse became redundant. It was therefore also used as a water tower for a while.
