Snorkeling is a water sport in which one swims or floats in the water with goggles and snorkel facing down. The snorkeler breathes through the snorkel and looks at marine life through goggles. Usually when snorkeling one wears fins, also called flippers. However, this is not necessary. One can also wear a wetsuit to stay warm and for protection against Uv rays. Snorkeling is usually done in warm water of more than 20 degrees Celsius. In principle one can snorkel in any water. Depending on the water temperature one should adjust one's clothing accordingly. To snorkel is no license required. It is possible at some diving and swimming schools to obtain a snorkel diploma.
