Egmond Castle or Castle in den Hoef is a former castle in the heart of Egmond aan den Hoef. This part of the tower, besides the foundations, all that's left. Built in 1129. William of Orange ordered to stabbing the castle on fire, so it would not fall into the hands of the Spaniards. In 1798 the castle was demolished on. But it always remains a feature of Egmond aan den Hoef!
