Sineu is not only the geographical centre of the island of Mallorca, but also has a long tradition. The town of 3,000 inhabitants is particularly well known for its traditional weekly market, where farmers have been meeting for centuries. Sineu is located in the middle of the Pla, the region on Mallorca that is characterised by agriculture. Every Wednesday, the traditional weekly market takes place, which is now not only visited by farmers and locals, but also increasingly by holidaymakers. There you can get to know rural Mallorca - far away from the mass tourism on the coasts. The market is said to have existed for over 700 years, making it the oldest in Mallorca.
