Silver Birch. An empty, misty landscape, deserted and covered under a white shimmering blanket of sparkling hoar frost in light mist. A light mist that, just for a moment, shrouds and thus softens the hard contours of the harsh winter landscape. Behind a strip of peaceful ferns in soft, beige winter hues, a group of silver birches loom; fragile and delicate, almost transparent by the light of a watery morning sun. The calm of the lull creates a sense of tranquillity, where everything comes into balance and it seems as if it always has been. I capture it in this photograph.
