The high water in the fens causes bright contrasts between the water and the flooded grass and heath landscape. I tempered the bright light as much as possible with a polarisation filter. This filter also emphasises the colour contrasts to make the shot come alive. Because this is a backlight shot, it creates more depth, thanks to the background becoming lighter in relation to the foreground: in particular, notice something to the left of the middle in the row of trees, which is the point where the sun is directly above, and that's where the light in the photo is very beautiful, like a vanishing point.
