The Guilder, before the Euro was introduced the guilder was the legal tender of the Netherlands. The Dutch Guilders visible here are all minted in 72% silver. These coins are now traded for the silver value as this value is higher than the face value. Silver guilders (1954-1967) weigh 6.5 grams each and are struck in 72% silver. Each guilder therefore contains 4.68 grams of pure silver.
