Breda train station is a challenging environment to photograph. Actually, I've been there a little too often to look at it in a different way. But by taking a seat in the train, I succeeded.
What you see here is a backlight shot I took from a stationary train. Thus the light was not only filtered through the large exterior windows, but also obscured by the window of the train I was sitting in.
For the first time I noticed that you can actually see part of Breda's skyline through the large windows: in the middle is just the Great Church of Breda!
To give the image some momentum, I waited to press the shutter button until a silhouette came through my frame. And it did, because this silhouette is holding a surfboard!
Where would the surfer go to brave the waves? Would he take the train to Zeeland or the one to The Hague?
