About "Silent emptiness - An abandoned greenhouse in the sunlight"

by Infinite Decay

About the artwork

This abandoned greenhouse looks like a relic of days gone by, where life once pulsated, but now silence and emptiness reign. The ground is dry and cracked, the once cultivated land is now barren and overgrown with scattered, sparse blades of grass, hinting at nature's slow retreat into the space. Scattered, tattered sheets and tarpaulins hang over the ground, having long since lost their original function as protection from the sun and weather. A large green tarpaulin in the centre catches the eye; it hangs limply and is reminiscent of an abandoned scene that was once full of life.

The glass ceiling of the greenhouse allows the sunlight to enter unfiltered and creates striking shadow lines on the floor, dividing the space into geometric shapes. The light lends the room an almost sacred atmosphere and emphasises the contrasts between structure and decay. Despite its neglect, the greenhouse conveys an impression of stability, as if it could survive the elements for a while yet. This image evokes a mixture of nostalgia and transience and invites the viewer to imagine how this space was once used and what stories lie hidden here.
