Shot into Seed is a digital artwork created by a fusion between a drawing and a painting. The drawing is made with drawing techniques of pencil and charcoal and the painting consists of multiple layers of various painting techniques.
The work was inspired by a photograph I took of a dandelion shot into seed. All those fragile connections in the dandelion fluff I continue to find something special.
Considered a weed by many, despite the fact that the leaves, flowers and even roots of the dandelion are edible as long as it has not yet shot into seed as in this image. Moreover, consuming dandelions is even said to have a positive impact on the bile, liver and digestion. So yes. Weed?
Probably yet another work of art of a fluffy dandelion, but I thought this one was worthwhile. The sharpness-depth effect and the white fluff combined with hues of brown and green, makes this work dreamy and rural. The sharpness-depth effect also draws the eyes to the center of the artwork where the details of the fruits in the fluff are easily visible. It only takes a good sigh of wind to blow these seeds away. And wherever they fall, chances are that new dandelions will come from them and probably more new artworks about dandelions. A fertile little plant, both literally and figuratively.
